iTunes New Music Tuesday Podcast
I just discovered that the iTunes New Music Tuesday Podcast has started using Podcast Maker to do its enhanced podcasts since 3 episodes ago. How cool is that?
You might be wondering how I can tell. We tag each episode file enhanced with Podcast Maker with its version number so that we can provide smarter customer support. You too can see this version number in the info panel in iTunes.

The other thing that is interesting, is that this is the only podcast that I have seen that has a purchase date. Could this be a hint of things to come?

I wonder if the purchase date is related to the new pricing schemes they are using for things like a “season” of a particular podcast. You buy it in advance and then it automatically downloads as many podcasts as get released for the season. I think they do that with Ricky Gervais, for instance.

Congrats! Thats awesome. Perhaps there is a third party putting these things together for Apple. Can’t believe that they would not use there own software. Heck, just make there own for that matter. You have a awesome program. Would anyone over I think!

@Daniel – the second season of the Ricky Gervias “podcast” is considered an audiobook on the iTMS, and is categorized as such.
I’ve seen the Purchase Date tag on quite a few of my subscribed podcasts, mainly videos but also on some Advanced AAC audio podcasts. Not sure what the connection is, or if there is any connection at all…
